Hello

My name is Adam Petipas and I am a senior barber/ stylist at The Ugly Barber Shop. I've been working here since June of 2021. I joined the team for a more accommodating life/work balance, allowing me to focus on all my passions.

I'm a second generation barber, following in my father's footsteps. I would help sweep up and do chores around his barbershop after basketball practice in junior high and high school and I was enamoured with the atmosphere, as well as the skillset. My dad introduced me to the basics of barbering, having an everlasting impression on me.

My introduction and foundation rests in traditional barbering. However, I've traveled abroad to train with the likes of industry leaders such as Glassbox, Menspire and Vidal Sassoon. The plethora of training has allowed me to ascend to a multiple of disciplines and hair types/textures. I'm quite confident in working with very short hair to longer shoulder lengths and more. Wether it's a beard trim, shave, fade or a shoulder length cut, I'm more than happy to serve you.

I pride myself on the quality of my work, as well as my service - it's what drives me to be better each and every day.

When I'm not behind the chair, I enjoy basketball, photography, snowboarding and weightlifting. Other interests include automotive design and cars, reading and record collecting. The rest of my time is dedicated to music; I've been a working professional DJ and music producer for twenty years now. DJing has taken me all over North America, as well as Korea. I've hosted numerous radio shows over the years and I started a boutique record label, focusing on vinyl only releases, featuring artists from Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, San Francisco and Toronto.

I care for and appreciate the folks that have continued to sit in my chair each and every week.
